Ssshhhh...Don't tell...

This week is Valentine’s Week and I have to say, I am a romantic at heart.  I love all the gooey sayings, mushy movies and yummy things that go with this Hallmark holiday.   David and I got married on Valentine’s Day, so it’s always a special day in my book.   As the years go by, I have noticed my creativity for gifts gets a little less innovative, so this year I was REALLY challenged when I realized the anniversary gift for the 8th year of marriage is bronze.  Now, what in the world am I going to buy this guy that is bronze and really means something?  After searching endless hours on the internet, I came up with something that I really hope he likes.   It may sound a little weird, so let me explain.  This year, I got him a hand sculpted bronze statue that is the head of two eagles.  Now, eagles symbolize a lot in our family since Sean is in the military, but I didn’t buy it for that reason.   I was listening to a pastor talk about the ability that the eagle has to soar above all other birds, when it came to me-that’s it!  That’s what I want my marriage to be able to do-to soar high above all the other “stuff” in life.  So, that’s what he is getting this year.  The two “eagles” are David and I-the bronze is the tradition, and the engraving on the statue simply reads-2/14/12… “Forever soar”   I haven’t given it to him yet, so shhhhhhh…I’ll keep you updated.   In the meantime, I want to wish you and those you love all the best and may God’s greatest love continue to shine on you as you “soar” with Him.
