July 2011

Hello friends!
Well, the "dog days" of summer are in full swing! Not really sure what that means -- maybe I'll ask Taz! I hope this new season is offering you a chance to recharge, renew and even redirect your journey with God.
During the month of June, I had the awesome privilege of being the guest artist on the television show of one of my lifelong heroes, recording artist and Women of Faith speaker Babbie Mason. Babbie is the host of her own show called "Babbie's House." What a blessing to have some "one on one" time with her. We will let you know when the show will be airing. I also had the joy of being a guest on the "Atlanta Live" television show. Be sure to catch the interview on my website--coming soon.
Speaking of websites, how do you like the new site? Be sure to watch for updates right here and let me know what you think. I always love hearing from you. And if you haven't joined my Facebook page, do so today! We always have fun stuff going on there!
During July, I will be traveling to Atlanta, Georgia to participate in the International Christian Retailers Show. Please pray for me as I share the message of "humor, hope and healing" in my new book "Grace in High Heels" with Christian retailers from the U.S. and around the world. Your prayers always mean so much and I know that because so many of you pray for this ministry, we are allowed to share the Gospel with many. If you haven't purchased a copy of "Grace in High Heels" for yourself or a friend, you can visit the "Store" section of the website and we will send it to you immediately.
Speaking of "Grace in High Heels," we have officially begun taping the first episodes of the new television show! As you know, this is a variety show, and we have the segments for exercise and cooking "in the can," as they say. You read that correctly-- I am actually exercising and cooking on the show. That right there is worth tuning in because you won't see me do either one very often! I will continue to "press toward the mark" on both.
Since this is our month to celebrate Independence, I want to thank all of our service men and women for their sacrifices. A special thanks to my beautiful son, Sean, who flies with integrity, not just through the skies, but through life.
Most of all, I thank Jesus Christ for you and for the independence that He provided through His death on the cross. His "grace" is sufficient for ALL our needs.
Until next time, know you are loved!
Shannon
