Child Like Faith

While sitting at the breakfast table the morning after finding new bikes in the barn for Christmas, the boys and I were talking about their Papa and how asking Jesus into our hearts is how we can spend forever with Jesus and with those we love. It got a little quiet and suddenly, my littlest one blurred out, “I want to ask Jesus into my heart!” He then began saying his own words, inviting Jesus to be his Savior. That precious six year old who knew, at that moment, Jesus was tapping on his heart to make the most important decision of his life, had his heart and life changed forever. His daddy, brother and I all stopped eating and held hands while he prayed, and this Chae Chae experienced the greatest Christmas gift ever.

Our ministry has a goal to reach 2,026 souls for Jesus in 2026. I can’t think of a better way to end the old year, or begin the new one than for my own little one to be counted as one of those souls. Matthew 18:3 reminds us “unless we change and become like little children, we will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” The faith of a child to listen to the God who created him and surrender his life because of the love of his father wasn’t about religion. Just relationship. Sitting right there at a table eating eggs, Jesus showed up and changed a little boy’s life forever.

Jesus is showing up all around us, every moment. And when our hearts and minds are open to Him, He does life-changing things.

What an incredible birthday gift to Jesus from our little one. What an unforgettable moment on earth. Jesus. He’s what we need in every moment, in every decison, in every relationship, in every loss and in every step we take in 2026. He’s not into fancy words. He’s into life-changing moments of surrender. So just ask-with child-like faith.
