Beautiful in heart and spirit, Singer, Speaker and Songwriter Shannon Perry is a woman with a powerful story to tell. After being saved at the age of six, Shannon began singing to many audiences near her hometown, Houston, Texas. Shannon eventually received a vocal scholarship to begin college and earned a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Education. As Shannon began her teaching experience, she could have never imagined what God had planned. “I began singing and traveling on the weekends while I was a teacher, and eventually, I was invited to Nashville to record my first project. I had prayed for three things at that time: to be married, to be a mom, and to be in ministry. Little did I know that God had already given me all three!” Shannon’s heart warming story of how she married and became the mother to a son who had no mom is a powerful testimony of God’s work in Shannon’s life.
Shannon has ministered in song throughout the United States and Europe. She has recorded for national radio, and has made numerous appearances on national television. She has performed with the Houston Symphony, and had the distinct privilege of performing in “Carnegie Hall” in New York City.
Shannon has ministered with many gifted artists including Gordon Mote, Michael English, Larnelle Harris, best selling authors Karen Kingsbury, Jan Silvious (Women of Faith), Joanna Weaver, Calvin Hunt of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir in New York, Jeannette Clift George (A.D. Players), Allison Durham, Jonathan Pierce and Cynthia Clawson. She has performed the leading role in two Broadway style Christian Musical productions, and was repeatedly invited to be a featured soloist at the J&J Music Conferences in Houston, Texas. She has led Praise and Worship at numerous Women’s conferences throughout the United States and for the national “Lifeway” conferences held annually at the “Lifeway” Convention Centers in New Mexico and North Carolina. Shannon has been featured as the keynote speaker at Women’s Conferences throughout the country and is currently working on her first book which is due for release later this year. Shannon’s most recent accomplishment includes the release of new worship songs to Inspirational Radio after working with writer/producer Paul Marino of Lifeway, Inc.
Shannon has released custom projects with Daywind and Benson Music companies in Nashville, Tennessee. Shannon penned five of the ten songs included on her project “Safe Place” which sparked the interest of many in the music business. As a result, nationally released project, “Tell the Story” was born. “Tell the Story” includes Grammy Award winning musicians as well as original songs written by Grammy and Dove nominated songwriters. This CD is packed with the powerful message of Jesus Christ and being shared with listeners all over the country as songs are released for National Radio airplay.
Shannon resides in Houston, Texas with her husband David. Their son Sean attends the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Shannon’s prayer for every event is that those who are hurting would be released, those searching would be restored, and that all who hear His word through song would be renewed by a greater understanding of His love for them.
